White fused alumina is made from industrial alumina powder, melted in an electric arc at temperatures above 2000 degrees Celsius, and then cooled. After crushing, shaping, magnetic separation to remove iron, and sieving into various particle sizes, it has a dense texture, high hardness, and sharp-angled particle shapes. It is suitable for manufacturing ceramics, resin-bonded abrasives, as well as grinding, polishing, sandblasting, and precision casting (specifically for precision casting). It can also be used to manufacture high-grade refractory materials. Its code “WA” is consistent with international and national standards. Most of it is exported, but a certain amount is also supplied to domestic users.

White Fused Alumina Density
Density is divided into two types: bulk density and true density.
Bulk Density
1.53~1.99 g/cm³. The bulk density of abrasive is related to factors such as particle size, particle composition, variety, and particle shape. Generally, coarse-grained abrasives have a higher bulk density than fine-grained abrasives, and mixed-grained abrasives have a higher bulk density than single-grained abrasives. True Density
3.95~4.0 g/cm³, the true density of abrasive refers to the mass of abrasive contained in a unit volume (excluding the volume of pores).
Basic Grit Size
45%~55%, the basic grit size is an important indicator for ensuring grinding effect. It should be appropriately controlled during production, but the production speed may be slowed down.
White Fused Alumina Advantages
- Does not affect the color of the processed parts.
- It can be used for sandblasting in processes where iron powder residue is strictly prohibited.
- Micro powder grade is very suitable for wet sandblasting and polishing operations.
- Fast processing speed and high quality.
- Extremely low iron oxide content, suitable for sandblasting operations where iron residue is strictly prohibited;
- Removes impurities through an acid washing step.
Applications: White fused alumina abrasive is suitable for surface beautification treatment of various high-end products, crafts, or hardware products. After sandblasting, the surface is white and free of any impurities, eliminating the hassle of cleaning. Fine grade white fused alumina can be used as the top choice for polishing and grinding. It can also be used as an additive in various products. It can be used to make solid and coated abrasives, wet, dry, or blast sandblasting, suitable for ultra-precision grinding and polishing in the crystal and electronics industries, and for making high-grade refractory materials. It is suitable for processing hardened steel, alloy steel, high-speed steel, high-carbon steel, and other materials with high hardness and tensile strength. It can also be used as a catalyst, insulator, and precision casting sand. Applications include: rust removal, dirt removal, and oxide scale removal on iron workpieces, increasing the adhesion of plating and coatings; oxide scale removal, surface strengthening, and finishing on aluminum workpieces; oxide scale removal and matte effect on copper workpieces; crystal frosting and pattern engraving on glass products; matte effect on plastic products; and plush processing and pattern effects on special fabrics such as denim.
- Surface Processing: Removal of metal oxide layers, carbide black scale, and rust from metal or non-metal surfaces, such as removal of oxides or release agents from gravity die-casting molds and rubber molds; removal of black spots and uranium stains from ceramic surfaces; and restoration of painted surfaces.
- Finishing: Matte or frosted finish on various gold and karat gold jewelry and precious metal products; frosted finish on non-metallic materials such as crystal, glass, corrugated glass, and acrylic; and surface treatments to give the workpiece a metallic luster.
- Etching: Etching of jade, crystal, agate, semi-precious stones, seals, ornamental stones, antiques, marble tombstones, ceramics, wood, bamboo, etc.
- Pre-treatment: Pre-treatment before applying Teflon, PU, rubber, and plastic coatings; rubber roller coating; electroplating; metal spraying; titanium plating, etc., to increase surface adhesion.
- Deburring: Deburring of bakelite, plastic, zinc, aluminum die-castings, electronic components, magnetic cores, etc.
- Stress Relief: Stress relief treatment for aerospace, defense, and precision industrial parts, including rust removal, paint removal, matte finishing, and repair.
